  • China Education Online Zhejiang Station (Reporter Chen Xianting, Correspondents Zhang Mengfan, Shen Hengyun) From May 28 to 30, the "China Association of Rehabilitation Medicine 2025 National Science and Technology Workers' Day Rehabilitation Science Popularization Conference & the Second Wenzhou International Rehabilitation Convention," jointly organized by the China Association of Rehabilitation Medicine and Wenzhou Medical University, was held in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province.  

    Centered around the theme "Technological Innovation · Science Benefiting the People," the event aligned with the National Science and Technology Week, the National Science and Technology Workers' Day, and the Association’s Member Day. By integrating online and offline activities and fostering collaboration among industry, academia, and research, the conference established a nationwide rehabilitation science popularization network, attracting over 12 million participants in total. It has become an important platform for promoting the dissemination of rehabilitation medical knowledge and facilitating professional exchange.

    At the opening ceremony of the conference, Mr. Jin Huanmin, Party Secretary of Wenzhou Medical University, delivered a welcome address. Mr. Peng Mingqiang, Party Secretary, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, extended festive greetings on behalf of the association to rehabilitation science and technology workers across the nation.


    Following the opening ceremony, 15 leading domestic experts, including Academician Su Guohui of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Wang Zhenchang of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Academician Li Xiaokun of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Wenzhou Medical University, and Academician Li Jian'an, International Fellow of the National Academy of Medicine of the United States, delivered in-depth presentations on cutting-edge fields such as medical imaging, neuroregeneration, intelligent rehabilitation, and weight management, integrating clinical practice into their discussions. The forum was chaired by experts including Qiao Yuandong, President of the Daqing Campus of Harbin Medical University, and Liu Zhen, Foreign Member of the Japanese Academy of Engineering. Through intellectual exchange and experience sharing, the event provided participants with an academic yet accessible intellectual feast.


    Innovation-Driven Initiatives: Dual Breakthroughs in Science Popularization Competitions and Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration


    Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine & Wenzhou Medical University Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

    To deepen the integration of industry, academia, and research, the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine and Wenzhou Medical University have signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two parties will jointly establish a collaborative laboratory for rehabilitation medicine to advance the development of intelligent rehabilitation equipment; foster a high-level talent pipeline through joint cultivation of master's and doctoral students; and implement training programs for grassroots rehabilitation physicians to enhance regional service capabilities. This collaboration will inject innovative momentum into the field of rehabilitation medicine and facilitate the translation of scientific and technological achievements into practical applications.



    The Science Popularization Work Committee of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine Presented Awards to Representatives of Outstanding Entries  in the 7th Rehabilitation Science Popularization Innovation Competition


    As a highlight of the conference, the semifinal round of the 7th Rehabilitation Science Popularization Innovation Works Competition, organized by the Science Popularization Working Committee of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, was held concurrently. Since its launch in February, the competition has attracted active participation from rehabilitation professionals and university students nationwide, with over 1,300 submissions received. Following a rigorous review process, more than 200 outstanding works were selected, and their representatives were honored with awards during the conference.


    National Science Outreach: Online and Offline Initiatives Benefit Millions


    The conference adopted an integrated tripartite model—"Wenzhou Host Day + Cloud-Based Science Lecture Series + Offline Science and Technology Volunteer Services"—to facilitate efficient dissemination of scientific knowledge. The Wenzhou Host Day event featured specialized forums including a Rehabilitation Experts Forum and an Internet+Rehabilitation sub-forum, alongside activities such as academic paper collections and dedicated youth exchange sessions, providing a platform for emerging talents in the field.


    Through the online "Cloud-Based Science Lecture Series," 428 experts holding associate senior professional titles or higher from 68 branches of the association delivered systematic and standardized popular science lectures on key topics such as chronic disease management, geriatric rehabilitation, and pediatric rehabilitation. To date, the lecture series has accumulated over 7 million views, establishing itself as a vital channel for the societal dissemination of rehabilitation medicine knowledge.
